Traditions and Community Engagement

Traditions and Community Engagement is dedicated to enhancing the current traditions at Lafayette and examining the history of the college to create new traditions. The committee coordinates recreational trips and events that foster school spirit and community among students. Committee members are responsible for working directly with student organizations, student groups, academic departments, and members of the Lafayette community to provide opportunities for partnership. Past events have included: Fall Fest, Rivalry Week, off-campus trips, Stuff-A-Plush, movie nights, Super Bowl Party, and more.

Marketing and Outreach

Marketing and Outreach oversees all aspects of promotion and branding LAF. This committee is responsible for developing advertising campaigns and promoting events through social media, website, and promotional events and items. Its members are responsible for working directly with student organizations, student groups, academic departments and members of the Lafayette community to provide opportunities for partnership.

Music and Coffeehouse

The Music & Coffeehouse Committee organizes large and small scale events providing access to different genres of music and community building activities. This committee will utilize a variety of venues to provide a unique experience for each type of program. The Music and Coffeehouse committee frequently works with external contracts and acts to seek out dynamic performers that will appeal to a wide variety of students. Members are responsible for working directly with student organizations, student groups, academic departments and members of the Lafayette community to provide opportunities for partnership. Past events have included: Spring Concert, Open Mic Night, Poetry Slam, and Kickoff Concert.

Culture, Media and Entertainment

The Culture, Media and Entertainment committee provides a diverse selection of educational and entertainment programs which focus on the importance of creative, social, cultural, and global issues. This committee focuses on relevant issues, performers, and cultural movements and works to connect the campus community to the world outside of Lafayette. Members are responsible for working directly with student organizations, student groups, academic departments and members of the Lafayette community to provide opportunities for partnership. Past events have included: Todrick Hall, 90s week, Escape the Room, Tig Notaro, Lea Delaria, and trips to Broadway shows.
