The institute is held annually a Saturday in February. It is an all day, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm, immersive experience with 60-70 student leaders from campus. Applications to attend become available in the late fall.

The event is a conference format with a multiple educational sessions to choose from throughout the day. Morning presentations are followed by afternoon workshops related to the morning topics — so that attendees might take a deeper dive into their leadership learning. The mid-day luncheon involves conversations with accomplished Lafayette alumni who share and reflect on the five effective leadership practices that serve as the hallmark of leadership education at Lafayette.

Visiting faculty and professional leadership consultants design the content which supports the concepts of our leadership model and the competencies necessary to be an effective leader.
